Getein T3 Fast Test Kit is used in the monitoring of hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism, and also used as an aid in the functional diagnosis of thyroidea.
Intended Use
The T3 (Triiodothyronine) Fast Test Kit (Immunofluorescence Assay) is intended for in vitro quantitative determination of T3 in human serum and plasma samples. It can be used for monitoring hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism and serves as an aid in the functional diagnosis of thyroid diseases.
About T3
The thyroid gland plays a crucial role in regulating growth, differentiation, cellular metabolism, and hormonal balance. It is essential for maintaining metabolic activity and developing the skeletal and organ systems. The hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3) circulate in the bloodstream, mostly bound to the plasma protein thyroxine-binding globulin (TBG). Although the concentration of T3 is lower than T4, its metabolic potency is much greater.
T3 is produced by the thyroid in response to TSH secretion. Measuring T3 is important in diagnosing thyroid disease. T3 levels are often elevated in thyrotoxic patients with normal T4 levels, indicating a variant of hyperthyroidism. An increase in T3 without a corresponding increase in T4 can precede recurrent thyrotoxicosis in previously treated patients. In some cases, normal T3 levels may indicate euthyroidism even when T4 values are subnormal.
