About Anti-TP
Syphilis is a treatable infection caused by the bacteria Treponema pallidum (TP), which is mainly transmitted sexually but can also be transmitted from mother to fetus during pregnancy or birth. If left untreated, syphilis can spread and cause significant organ damage. Serological tests, along with patients’ clinical history, are the primary methods for the diagnosis and management of syphilis.
